Geek Tinker

M introduced me to Mozilla's Firefox browser and I've been playing with it all day. One of the cooler features of this browser is that you can have multiple windows open and arranged as tabs underneath the toolbars instead of traditional minimized windows.

Another cool feature is the option to add plug-ins or as Mozilla calls it "extensions." I have added a weather extension to track the current weather condition. It refreshes every two minutes so I have these little cloud and sun icons with up-to-the-minute tempuratures on the right hand side of the toolbar.

But my most favorite feature has to be the built-in RSS feeds in the browser. Now I can bookmark my favorite feed enabled sites and obtain the latest posts with a click of a button. As a result of this ingenious feature, I have enabled site feed for this blog, so now it won't be as private anymore, at least for those who know where to look for it.

So M just called and said I have to help him set up his Firefox browser on his laptop and our desktop. I may have to hold back on all these features - it might confuse him. We know who the real geek is in this household. :^_^:
